The GO College program provides academic assistance and career advisement for the participants of the program at East High School. The goal is to assist participants to become successful in planning for college, enrolling in college, and completing college.
Once students graduate from college, the ultimate program outcome is for the participants to enter a career field which is both rewarding and meaningful.
Educational Talent Search identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their post-secondary education. The program also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or post-secondary level to enter or reenter and complete post-secondary education. The goal of Educational Talent Search is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their post-secondary educations.
Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. The program provides opportunities for the participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. Upward Bound serves high school students from low-income families and high school students from families where neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of post-secondary education. Working collaboratively with Edinboro University of PA and several school districts in Erie and Crawford Counties, the program offers services at the students’ home schools and on the campus of Edinboro University of PA during the academic year and during a six-week summer session.
