Utility Assistance

Neighbor-for-Neighbor LogoThe Issue

With the rising cost of utilities, more and more families are being priced out of heat and electricity—basic and essential human needs. When families can't afford heat or electricity, their safety and wellbeing are at risk.

Our Impact

GECAC's Utility Assistance program helps nearly 399 customers obtain assistance through Dollar Energy and Neighbor-for-Neighbor funds.

Overview

ELECTRICITY ASSISTANCE: Dollar Energy Fund

  • This fund is a FirstEnergy program.
  • Once a year lump sum grant.
  • Must be unable to pay the bill due to an emergency situation (i.e. loss of employment, illness, divorce).
