The Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC) is accepting proposals for auditing services for the audit period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.  Interested applicants may view the proposal package below.  All audit proposals are due by 4:30 PM on September 23, 2025. Proposals received after this time will not be accepted.

Q & A

• Are there any significant changes in federal funding received in the current year (or expected in the coming year) versus the prior year SEFA? Answer - Similar funding to the current year.
• Are auditors typically given access (either onsite through a computer or remotely) to the general ledger? Answer - Onsite
• Are there any known litigations or frauds that could impact the audit? Answer - No
• Are there any adjustments typically made by the auditors? If yes, can you please provide a copy of the adjustments for our reference? Answer – Minimum adjustments.
• When does the organization normally have its books and records closed and ready to be audited? Answer – Usually two months, but due to the change of CFO, it may take longer.
• Are there any details maintained by auditors – SEFA, Fixed Assets, etc.? Answer - No
• Is your existing auditor being invited to bid? Answer - Yes
• In the performance of the audit section of the RFP, it is mentioned that program audits are submitted to the PA Department of Human Services. Could you please provide me with a copy of what was submitted in the prior year? Answer – The majority will accept a single audit, but one or two programs may require a program audit
• Would you like a PDF of the proposal (in addition to or instead of the paper copies)? Answer – Sealed paper copy.
