Work Ready Program

The Work Ready Program (WRP) is designed to prepare individuals for employment and to help them secure employment which leads to economic independence. Referrals to Work Ready must come directly from the County Assistance Office.

  • WRP begins with an orientation to the program, assessment and the completion of an Employment Development and Retention Plan (EDRP).
  • WRP provides counseling, supportive services, and on-site assistance to help individuals attain goals outlined in their EDRP.
  • Intensive case management is provided to each individual in the WRP. Case managers maintain close contact with participants to assist them with attaining their goals.

Clients participate in core and non-core activities.

Core activities include: vocational/educational training, high school/GED attendance, job development/ readiness, volunteer skill building, subsidized & unsubsidized employment, and paid work experience.

Non-Core activities include: education directly related to employment (ESL, Remediation, Adult Literacy) and GED preparation (age 22 and older).

  • Must attend 100% of all scheduled core and non-core activities.
