Positions Open in Head Start
Teacher:  Associate, Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 24-college credits in Early Childhood Education.  $14.50-$19.76 hr. based on related experience.   

Teacher Assistant:  Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a minimum of 15-college credits in Early Childhood Education & one (1) year experience working in a pre-school environment.  $13.41/hr.

Teacher Aide:  High School Diploma or GED.  $11.88/hr.

All positions require:  (Please bring to interview) Original Act 33, 34 & FBI Clearances, valid PA, NY or OH driver’s license, full-time access to automobile, required auto insurance, pre-employment physical exam, TB Mantoux test/chest x-ray, 3-personal written references from someone who has known you for five (5) or more years & an official college transcript (if necessary).

Career Jump Start Case Manager (full-time) and  Recruiter (part-time)
Case Manager (37.5 hours/wk.) actively recruits job seekers & engages clients in activities to identify barriers to employment, develop strategies to overcome barriers & promote job readiness.  Manages a caseload of participants as assigned. May conduct orientation, assessment services, workshops, job readiness instruction & career exploration activities as assigned.  Provides on-going counseling, advocacy, referral, job development, placement & retention and/or supportive services & prepares reports as required by Supervisor. 

Recruiter (19.5 hours/wk.) builds relationships with local employers & maintains contact to identify job openings & training opportunities.  Promote Career Jump Start program & services to employers & community leaders; coordinates outreach activities & participate in career fairs.  Match program graduates with job openings to ensure that placement goals are met. 

Requires knowledge, skills & abilities as normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field, combined with one (1) to three (3) years of directly related work experience in workforce development, HR, marketing, business, adult education & training or related field; or equivalent & acceptable combination of education & experience.  People oriented with good human relations skills.  Ability to work with diverse groups.  Must have working knowledge of computer systems, including word-processing, database & spreadsheet software. This position will require regular and frequent travel to six (6) counties in NW Pennsylvania. 

Requires current Act 33, 34 & FBI clearances & three (3) personal references.  Must have valid PA driver’s license, full-time access to private automobile & maintain appropriate auto insurance coverage as per Agency policy.  Must meet Immigration Law requirements.

Case Manager
Full-time position with UnifiedErie at GECAC.  Responsible for aiding clients to obtain the services needed to become self-sufficient, law abiding citizens.  Want to help individuals returning to the community from incarceration? Want to make a difference on the group violence issue affecting our community? Be a part of UnifiedErie’s Erie County Reentry Services & Support Alliance (ECRSSA). This project aims to transform the way we are helping citizens returning from incarceration or a life of crime to become productive citizens.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a working knowledge & acceptance of all aspects of the UnifiedErie initiative (Prevention, Enforcement and Reentry), possess insight on urban issues impacting the Erie area & understand the essential components of case management. Must be willing to work with the prison population & have experience supporting, empowering & managing individuals. 

Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field & two (2) years of experience, or six (6) years of experience in restorative justice, victim advocacy, offender services or related fields.
Must be willing & able to work a flexible schedule; have a valid PA driver’s license & full-time access to reliable, private automobile. Must maintain appropriate auto insurance coverage as required by Agency policy & meet Immigration Law requirements. Requires three (3) personal references of someone who has known you for five (5) or more years.  

Due to the likelihood of working with children under the age of 18, these positions must comply with PA Child Protective Services requirements, therefore, Act 33, 34 & FBI clearances are required prior to hire and must be updated every 60 months to maintain employment.
