Recruitment and Selection

Citizenship Requirements  It is the policy of the Agency to employ only United States citizens and aliens lawfully authorized to work in the United States. The Chief Executive Officer may designate specific positions or classes for which applicants must be United States citizens. 

Residency Requirements The hiring of any non-resident of Pennsylvania requires the decision of the Management Committee of the Board Directors.

Current Openings

Positions Open in Head Start
Teacher:  Associate, Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of 24-college credits in Early Childhood Education.  $14.50-$19.76 hr. based on related experience.   

Teacher Assistant:  Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a minimum of 15-college credits in Early Childhood Education & one (1) year experience working in a pre-school environment.  $13.41/hr.

Teacher Aide:  High School Diploma or GED.  $11.88/hr.

All positions require:  (Please bring to interview) Original Act 33, 34 & FBI Clearances, valid PA, NY or OH driver’s license, full-time access to automobile, required auto insurance, pre-employment physical exam, TB Mantoux test/chest x-ray, 3-personal written references from someone who has known you for five (5) or more years & an official college transcript (if necessary).
