GECAC believes that people in poverty need an important element to succeed—other people.
Reducing the social costs of poverty, strengthening the workforce, and building a more prosperous community are goals on which most people in Erie County agree.
Pairing low-income individuals and formerly incarcerated people with community members who are advocates and mentors create pathways out of poverty for families that will help our entire community thrive.
GECAC is a comprehensive program which provides employment training, education, life skills, counseling and other kinds of opportunities, based on the needs of the individuals we serve. Not only do we provide multiple services, but these services support and reinforce one another, creating a whole program that's greater than the sum of its parts.
