Position Summary

Applications are being accepted for a full-time Volunteer Coordinator position for the RSVP Program in the Area Agency on Aging at GECAC under contract with AmeriCorps Senior Corps.  Qualified applicants will provide direct assistance to the RSVP Director with carrying out Volunteer Program plans, goals, and objectives.  This position will work Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implements and facilitates major and specific programmatic functions within the program.
  • Plans, coordinates, and monitors specific activities under moderate supervision.
  • Maintains accurate statistical and program activity records and prepares reports as required.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of volunteers and stations.
  • Performs functions to recruit, train, and enhance volunteer and technology opportunities.
  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of the programmatic area and technology education skills in order to prepare recurring reports, maintain file records, and develop innovative program efficiencies by teaching technology to older adults.

Must have good communication and outreach skills, and have knowledge of community resources.  Also, must have the ability to document and maintain client records and complete monthly reports in line with established procedures. Ability to speak or read languages other than English, especially Spanish or Russian, is desirable.  Must meet all goals of the program, and will receive an incentive for goals met via the incentive program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with one to two years of directly related experience.
  • Proficient in the use of the computer and have computer software and online navigation skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with accessing public and community resources to meet individuals' needs.
  • Act 33, 34, and FBI Clearances issued within the past 5 years.
  • Valid driver's license and full-time access to a private automobile
