Weatherization

Weatherization

The Issue

Low-income households carry a larger burden for energy costs, typically spending nearly 17% of their total annual income versus 3.5% for other households. Often, they must cut back on healthcare, medicine, groceries, and childcare to pay their energy bills.

Our Impact

GECAC's Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing energy efficiency in their homes while ensuring their health and safety.  Through weatherization improvements and upgrades, these households save on average $283 or more every year.
