Funding:  Background

GECAC, through its long history of success and assistance, is at the forefront of providing help and support for families, agencies, and citizens in Erie, Pennsylvania to go to when they have no place else to turn.  GECAC - A member of the Community Action Partnership is the largest Community Action Agency in Pennsylvania.

The Agency blends federal; state and local funding into locally unique programs that are targeted to the specific needs of Erie County and is able to offer assistance through programs in five different operating units:  Area Agency on Aging; Child Development; Education , Training and Community Services; Drug and Alcohol Services; and CareerLink Services.

GECAC's service umbrella can serve every member of a family, from Head Start children to Senior Services.

The Agency (GECAC) is financed in part by a grant from the Federal Department of Human Services under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
