About GECAC

Greater Erie Community Action Committee (GECAC), a private non-profit 501(c)3 organization incorporated in March 1965, is the designated anti-poverty agency serving Erie City and Erie County, Pennsylvania.

GECAC receives federal, state, local, and private funding to carry out a variety of services to fulfill its mission. The agency is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by over 400 employees charged with the administration, implementation and delivery of services.

One of the over 1000 community action agencies nationwide, GECAC is bound by the Promise of Community Action:
