UPWARD BOUND SUMMER POSITIONS

Tutor / Residential Assistant – This position starts Sunday June 18th and runs Sunday – Thursday 2:00pm to 10:00pm.  The first 2 hours are spent with students in the classroom and the last 6 hours of the shift are in the Dorms, assisting staff in planning and implementing of recreational activities with the students. ($17.66/hour)

REQUIREMENTS: Have either a 2.8 GPA or bachelor's degree.  Experience tutoring in the various subject areas of Math, Science, English and or STEM. The ability to work flexible hours as needed. At time of Interview, must provide ACT 33, 34 & FBI clearances issued within the previous 12 months, and 3 letters of reference signed and dated from individuals you have known for at least 5 years.  Meet Immigration Reform Act requirements.

 

Residential Activities Assistant – This position starts Sunday June 18th and runs Sunday – Wednesday 5pm to Midnight. Must be able to create and implement fun, interesting, social and recreational activities to help build and maintain group cohesion.  Will assist full time staff in all aspects relating to the safety and welfare of the students.   Experience with summer camps or Upward Bound a plus.($16.22/hour)

REQUIREMENTS: Have either a 2.8 GPA or bachelor's degree.  Residential life experience a plus.  Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with students.  Ability to create and implement group social/recreational activities.    The ability to work flexible hours as needed. At time of Interview, must provide ACT 33, 34 & FBI clearances issued within the previous 12 months, and 3 letters of reference signed and dated from individuals you have known for at least 5 years.  Meet Immigration Reform Act requirements.


Residential Assistant (Safety Staff) 3rd Shift
– This position starts Sunday night June 18th and runs four nights a week Midnight to 8:00am.  Qualified applicant must have the ability to work with a diverse group of high school age students and have the ability to enforce all dormitory rules and policies to ensure student safety. ($16.22/hour)

REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High school diploma, clean criminal record.  Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with students.  Residential life experience a plus. At time of Interview, must provide ACT 33, 34 & FBI clearances issued within the previous 12 months, and 3 letters of reference signed and dated from individuals you have known for at least 5 years.  Meet Immigration Reform Act requirements.
