INSTRUCTOR, Adult Digital Literacy, Part-Time

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for teaching digital literacy classes to students seeking adult basic computer education classes.
  • Prioritizes and organizes work and lessons under the Program Manager who also provides regular technical assistance.
  • Supervises assigned Adult Education classes to insure compliance with Agency and funding regulations, policies and procedures resulting in positive performance outcomes.
  • Monitoring student growth throughout each instructional session; keeping necessary class records to document progress resulting in positive performance for compliance with Agency and funding sources.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Technology or related and acceptable field, combined with two (2) or more years of directly related and progressively more responsible work experience in adult education, training or computer skill instruction; or other equivalent and acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • A PA Teacher Certification is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be energized working in a collaborative environment, will be self-motivated, organized, able to work well under pressure
  • Must be a team player and a people oriented with good human relations skills.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of local labor market, as well as other community resources.
  • Must display a proven ability to plan and organize, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough working knowledge of computer systems, including Microsoft Suite, email, and safe internet usage including skills for online job seekers, is a must.
  • Ability to maintain complete and current case records for assigned caseload.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including offering distance learning instruction, and travel to classrooms within Erie County when appropriate.

 Must have current Act 33, 34 & FBI clearances issued within the past 5 years along with a valid PA driver's license & full-time access to private transportation.  Must meet immigration requirements. 

 Salary: $16.58 - $21.63 depending on experience.
